Thanksgiving, Handled
Thanksgiving is one meal with about fifteen moving parts, and most of what goes wrong is equipment, not cooking. At Tarzian West for Housewares, Brooklyn's neighborhood kitchen store since 1977, this collection is the whole day laid out in the order you will need it.
Roasting. Roasting pans with racks from Hestan, Viking, Le Creuset and Zwilling, plus adjustable and non-stick racks from Norpro and Better Houseware. Measure your oven first, then come see them side by side.
The Bird. Turkey lifters, trussing needles, flavor injectors, turkey frills and basters with cleaning brushes from OXO and HIC, plus poultry shears from OXO and Browne.
Temperature. Oven-safe meat thermometers from Escali, instant-read thermometers, and a Kikkerland turkey timer for the traditionalists.
Carving & Serving. J.K. Adams carving boards with juice grooves, a Wüsthof carving fork, and gravy and fat separators with built-in strainers.
Sides. Potato ricers from RSVP and Norpro for lump-free mash, Le Creuset rondeaus for braising, and Cole & Mason mills for finishing.
