Slice, Julienne, and Chop Faster
A mandoline turns the repetitive work of slicing potatoes, cucumbers, fennel, or radishes into something quick and uniform. A pull-string chopper handles herbs and small vegetables without a knife and board. At Tarzian West for Housewares, Brooklyn's neighborhood kitchen store since 1977, our mandoline and chopper selection ranges from handheld slicers for everyday use to adjustable-blade models for serious prep work.
Handheld Mandolines. The Oxo Hand Held Mandoline for a compact, single-position slicer with a thin, razor-sharp blade, ideal for cucumbers, radishes, and hard fruit. The OXO Good Grips Adjustable Hand-Held Mandoline Slicer for an adjustable-thickness version that lets you dial in slice thickness without tools. The Oxo Simple Mandoline for a slimmer, pared-down version.
Flat Mandolines. The Adjustable Mandoline Slicer for a full-size flat mandoline with legs and a hand guard for higher-volume prep. The Progressive PL8 Stainless Steel Thin Slicer Mandoline for a pro-style thin-slicer mandoline with multiple blade inserts. The Multifunctional Slicer RASPINI for a versatile flat slicer with multiple grating and slicing settings.
Specialty Slicers. The RÖSLE Stainless Steel Julienne Slicer for producing matchstick-cut julienne strips from firm vegetables, excellent for salads, stir-fries, and garnishes. The Kuhn Rikon Salad Prep Knife for a multi-blade knife that cuts several strips at once.
Choppers & Food Processors. The Multi Chopper for a press-down chopper that dices herbs, onions, and small vegetables into uniform pieces on a built-in grid. The Easy Pull Food Processor for a pull-cord chopper that handles herbs, nuts, and small produce without electricity.
Safety. The Mercer Cut Resistant Glove, essential when using any mandoline. All mandoline work should be done with a cut-resistant glove or the included hand guard. Never use a mandoline without one.
