Nippon Kodo Scentsual Incense, 30 Sticks

Japanese incense that reads more clean-and-modern than smoky-and-traditional.

Nippon Kodo's Scentsual line is single-stick incense made in the same Tokyo workshops that have been rolling incense since 1575. Each box holds 30 sticks of one signature blend, low in smoke and leaning bright and contemporary, and every stick burns about 25 minutes. Six scents, each with its own mood:

• Mellow Palo Santo: warm, woodsy, slightly resinous and grounding
• Fresh Green Tea: bright, herbaceous, mid-day clean
• Calm Hinoki Mint: Japanese cypress with a cool peppermint top, very forest-bath
• Sparkling Gold Yuzu: lively citrus, soft floral, lifted
• Brilliant Blue Lavender: clean, soft floral lavender, gentle and quieting
• Bitter Pink Ginger: warm-spicy ginger with a dry herbal edge

• 30 hand-rolled sticks per box, one blend per box
